Job Description

Note that this is a remote position in Houston, TX, requiring some domestic travel 2 – 3 weeks a month for a few days each week to client sites (up to 75% time), as assigned. 
Job duties include:

  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers, delivering advanced field service and support through on-site visits as well as remote communication to ensure reliable operation of laser-cutting systems.
  • Conduct in-depth mechanical and electrical diagnostics, investigation, and root-cause analysis to independently resolve complex issues in custom fiber laser cutting machines and industrial CNC equipment.
  • Interpret and apply technical drawings, layouts, schematics, and blueprints to support accurate troubleshooting, installation, and commissioning activities.
  • Develop and implement effective mechanical and electrical repair solutions with minimal supervision, identifying required replacement parts and coordinating logistics with vendors and internal teams.
  • Participate in final system integration, testing, and commissioning of customized automation and laser-cutting projects, ensuring performance meets engineering and customer requirements.
  • Provide expert-level technical training, test-cutting demonstrations, and engineering-based recommendations to customers and prospective clients in collaboration with the sales team (attending industry trade shows and exhibitions held in the U.S. as required).
  • Collaborate with global engineering teams, including China-based technical staff, to resolve complex issues, develop custom solutions, and support continuous product improvement.
  • Document all service activities and provide structured technical feedback, failure analysis, and performance improvement recommendations to headquarters based on field experience.
