Insight Global is seeking a Full-Stack Application Developer for a large insurance client. This role will be responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, and maintaining core business applications that support complex underwriting and enterprise workflows. The ideal candidate will bring strong backend expertise in .NET / .NET Core along with experience in modern front-end frameworks, contributing to both application modernization and new feature development. This position plays a key role in supporting and evolving ELD’s application portfolio, implementing new business capabilities, and ensuring high availability and performance of mission-critical systems. The developer will work closely with ELD business stakeholders, underwriting teams, and IT leadership to translate specialized business requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions. This is a full-stack role with a primary focus on backend development (~60%) and significant frontend responsibilities (~40%). The position currently follows a hybrid work model, requiring on-site presence in the Schaumburg office four days per week
Day-to-Day:
· Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications using .NET / .NET Core and modern UI frameworks · Focus on backend development (~60%) and frontend development (~40%) · Build and enhance RESTful APIs and backend services · Develop and maintain frontend UI components · Maintain and enhance existing applications, frameworks, and shared libraries · Implement new features aligned with business processes and workflows · Troubleshoot production issues and provide ongoing support · Ensure applications meet security, performance, and architectural standards · Contribute to modernization efforts and technical debt reduction · Collaborate with business stakeholders, underwriting teams, and IT leadership · Participate in code reviews, testing, CI/CD pipelines, and deploymentsWe are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. Skills and Requirements
· 2-4 years of strong experience with .NET / .NET Core and C#
· Hands-on experience with Entity Framework Core (EF Core) and ORM best practices · Strong understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP), design patterns, and clean architecture principles · Experience with SQL Server (query optimization, indexing, stored procedures) · Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (Angular strongly preferred)Exposure to AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot or similar) · Experience with containerization (Docker) and cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
· Knowledge of event-driven architectures (messaging, pub/sub systems) · Exposure to API gateways and service orchestration · Experience with automated testing frameworks (unit, integration, end-to-end) · Experience in insurance or underwriting systemsBackground in legacy system modernization initiatives
