Job Description
Responsible for fabricating and customizing fixed dental prosthetic devices using high-strength ceramic materials and computer-aided design (CAD) technologies. Construct crowns, bridges, veneers, and implant-supported restorations based on dentist prescriptions and clinical specifications. Apply ceramic layering and finishing techniques to achieve functional fit, aesthetic quality, and long-term durability. Collaborate with dentists and laboratory personnel throughout the production process. Specific duties include: design and fabricate fixed dental prosthetics, including crowns, bridges, veneers, and full-arch restorations, using zirconia and lithium disilicate (e.max) frameworks; apply ceramic layering, staining, and glazing to achieve natural tooth color, translucency, and surface characteristics; interpret and verify CAD design files (e.g., Exocad, 3Shape) to confirm anatomical contours, functional alignment, and margin integrity; operate and maintain dental lab equipment including milling units, sintering furnaces, ceramic ovens, and sandblasters in compliance with lab protocols; conduct multi-stage aesthetic and quality control evaluations to ensure occlusal balance, marginal adaptation, and esthetic outcomes; coordinate with prescribing dentists, CAD designers, and lab supervisors to make modifications to design specifications when needed. Mentor junior technicians on ceramic handling, firing schedules, and quality assurance procedures as required; and document each stage of the fabrication process, including material usage, shade selection, firing cycles, and production time, in accordance with lab and regulatory standards.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Associate degree (or foreign equivalent) in Dental Technology or a closely related field. and Must have three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a related technician occupation for a dental environment.
REQUIRED SKILLS: Must have skills/expertise with the following:
- Proficiency in ceramic layering, staining, and glazing techniques on fixed dental prosthetics;
- Working with zirconia and lithium disilicate (Emax) frameworks;
- Knowledge of dental CAD software (e.g., Exocad or 3Shape) for crown and bridge design;
- Implant-supported restoration workflows, including full-arch prosthetics;
- Perform occlusal analysis and marginal fit adjustments; and
- Operating dental lab equipment such as milling machines, sintering furnaces, and sandblasters
