The Quincy Kroc Center is seeking caring, dependable individuals to serve as Child Watch Attendants in Huck's Hideout, our drop-in childcare space available to Kroc Center members. In this role, you'll help provide a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for children ages 6 months through 7 years, giving parents peace of mind while they enjoy the Kroc Center's programs and facilities.

As a Child Watch Attendant, you help create positive early experiences for children while supporting parents' wellness, community connection, and self-care. Your presence helps ensure families feel welcomes, supported, and confident leaving their children in our care.
Position Details
Position Type: Part-time, working up to 19 hours/week
Pay Rate: $15.00/hour
Schedule: Flexible scheduling with a strong need for evening and weekend availability
Position Overview
Child Watch Attendants provide attentive supervision and age-appropriate engagement for children in a drop-in childcare environment. This role focuses on safety, positive interaction, cleanliness, and communication - creating a space where children feel secure and parents feel at ease.
What You'll Do
Supervise and engage children ages 6 months to 7 years in age-appropriate play and activities
Ensure the safety, well-being, and positive experience of every child in your care
Create a welcoming and friendly environment for children and their families
Communicate with parents regarding their child's needs, routines, or concerns
Maintain a clean, organized, and well-maintained Child Watch area
Follow childcare safety guidelines and Kroc Center policies at all times
What We're Looking For
Prior experience working with children (babysitting, childcare, daycare, or similar experience preferred)
Genuine passion for creating a fun, safe, and nurturing environment for young children
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with children, parents, and team members
Basic understanding of child development and safety practices
Ability to respond calmly and appropriately to children's needs and unexpected situations
First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain certification
Physical & Working Conditions
Ability to stand, walk, sit on the floor, and move throughout the Child Watch are for extended periods
Regular bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying children or supplies (up to 25lbs)
Active participation in play, games, and age-appropriate activities
Work performed in a childcare environment with moderate noise and activity levels
