Job Description

Job Title: Mechanical Assembler Department: Manufacturing

Reports To: Assembly Foreman FLSA status: Non-Exempt, full-time, Union

Position Summary: This position is responsible for the assembly of low and medium voltage electrical switchgear cabinets for the manufacture of products to satisfy customer orders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Interpret assembly and elevation drawings

• Construct modular steel cabinets and copper buss assemblies

• Read tape measure

• Experience using manual hand tools (wrench, screwdriver, pliers)

• Experience with power tools (drill, impact, pneumatic torque wrench)

• Team player, able to work within a team environment

• Ability to maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service

• Ensure proper protective equipment is always worn and tools or other equipment are properly used based on the task

• Follow control document procedures

• Regular in-person attendance is an essential function of this job

Education and/or Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent (GED), or previous experience in a manufacturing department

Knowledge and Skills:

• Must have knowledge of electrical symbols and schematics

• Must be able to read and understand blueprints and drawings

• Must be able to use shop equipment and hand tools

• Excellent mechanical skills

• Perform basic math functions including an understanding of fractions and decimals and read tape measure

• Must be a team player and have good attendance
