Position Summary
CMS Bureau of Property Management is looking for a self-motivated and energetic candidate to fill the position of Property Control Coordinator. This position is responsible for assisting the Property Control Officer in all inventory control operations for the Department of Central Management Services.  The successful staff member will be detail oriented and able to multi-task while maintaining various inventory programs. Position Essential Functions- Under direction of the CMS Property Control Officer (PCO), as a function administrator, organizes, plans, executes, controls, and evaluates the operations of the CMS Property Control program.
- Assists the CMS PCO with the annual inventory report.
- Assists the CMS PCO in maintaining inventory of items in the CMS Security Internal Property Control (SIPC) warehouse.
- Serves as the primary owner of the CMS Equipment Loan Program.
- Assists the CMS PCO with monitoring, reviewing, and updating the CMS Property Control policies and procedures.
- Distributes actual inventory tags to necessary staff throughout the state.
- Serves as customer service representative for CMS Property Control.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college, preferably with coursework in business or public administration.
- Requires one (1) year of responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization, or completion of an agency approved professional management training program.Â
- Prefers one (1) year of professional experience managing inventories in accordance with the Illinois Property Control act.
- Prefers one (1) year of professional experience using Systems Applications and Products (SAP) or similar software.
- Prefers one (1) year of professional experience utilizing warehouse equipment, such as pallet jacks, hand carts, dollies, forklifts, or similar.
- Prefers working knowledge of composition, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Prefers one (1) year of experience establishing and developing instructions and procedures.
- Prefers the ability to operate a forklift.
- Requires one (1) year of professional experience with managing inventories in accordance with the Illinois Property Control Act.
- Requires one (1) year of professional experience using Systems Applications and Products (SAP) or similar software.
- Requires one (1) year of professional experience utilizing warehouse equipment, such as pallet jacks, hand carts, dollies, forklifts, or similar.
- Requires completion of a background check and self-disclosure of criminal history.
- Overtime is a condition of employment, and you may be requested or required/mandated to work overtime including scheduled, unscheduled, or last-minute overtime. This may require the ability to work evenings and weekends.
- Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate. Requires a valid driver’s license.
