Sales Engineer
Kress is looking for a full time Sales Engineer to join our team in the development of specialized industrial equipment for steel, construction, and mining industries.
The Sales Engineer will provide customer assistance and recommendations in the area of job estimates, machine requirements, and field advice. You will also be responsible for responding to tender documents from customers and assisting the Product Support Group and the Parts Group in customer support when needed.
Responsibilities –
Develop and implement marketing strategy for all assigned products
Solid working knowledge of mechanical assemblies for heavy mobile machinery
Mechanical background and/or aptitude preferred
Create and maintain market analysis for all assigned industries to enable market share tracking and sales strategy development
Provide timely proposals that fit the sales strategy
Assist with costing and pricing for components and machines
Ensure Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system is utilized effectively, efficiently, and fluidly to make certain all departments are sharing coordinated information
Negotiate and execute contracts in compliance with the risk matrix
Lead sales “hand-off” process for won projects to establish proper contract administration and project management details
Ability to successfully navigate the sales process while maintaining strong relationships with the customers
Must have the ability to advise customers on technical solutions while including the expertise from other internal departments
Contribute to the sales forecast as accurately as possible
Effectively collaborate with all company departments as needed
Assist in the planning and execution of trade shows
Stay abreast of industry trends and market developments
Qualifications -
Bachelor’s degree Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering (previous related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree)
3+ years’ experience in a technical/mechanical related field
Knowledge of heavy equipment and site application engineering
Knowledge of budgeting
Must be proficient with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point)
Ability to absorb new issues and make sound decisions
Must have the ability to think on your feet and pivot when needed
Prior experience in project management beneficial
