Job Description
Duties: Administer, test, and implement databases. Configure the monitoring of system health and performance to ensure high level of availability and database security. Schedule database tasks including: Jobs, Alerts, Emails, and Notifications. Design systems with high availability, scalability, and disaster recovery features of SQL Server such as Windows Failover Cluster Servicesand AlwaysOn Availability Groups as per RPO and RTO requirements. Configure and troubleshoot using PowerShell and T-SQL scripts to monitor disk space, CPU active, Index fragmentation, database integrity check, update statistics, index maintenance for very large databases (VLDB). Utilize SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, shell scripting, T-SQL, PowerShell, SCOM, Oracle and MYSQL.
Requirements: Masters degree in CS/CIS/IT/Technology/ Business Administration, MIS, or related field with 6 months in Database Administrator/Analyst/Systems Admin/ Database Engineer/IS Admin or related field is acceptable. In lieu of Master’s degree, Bachelor's degree or foreign academic equivalent in Science, Computer Science, CIS, MIS, Information Technology, Engineering (any), Business Administration or related with 5 years of progressive IT experience as a Computer/ Engineering professional. Any suitable combination of education, training, and experience such as Software Engineer, IT Consultants, Programmer, Network Admin/System Analyst is acceptable.
Work location: Warrenville, Illinois and various unanticipated clients throughout the USA requiring relocations and travel to these sites. The proffered Database Administrator position may require travel to client locations within the United States as dictated by project specifications and client requirements. Such travel is integral to the normal duties of the occupation within the information technology consulting industry.
