+ Location: Glendale Heights, IL

+ Pay Rate: $ 20.00/hour

+ Shift: 1st Shift | Monday-Friday | 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM

+ Work Environment: Fast-paced, industrial, and non-climate-controlled (can get hot during summer months)

What You’ll Do

As a Fabrication Associate , you will be responsible for fabricating steel fire sprinkler pipes, operating machinery, and prepping orders for shipment.

Key Responsibilities Include:

+ Material Handling: Move loose or bundled pipe safely within the shop and yard. Assemble, bundle, and organize pipe orders.

+ Pipe Fabrication: Measure, cut, thread, bevel, and groove steel pipes (ranging from 1/2" to 10") using band saws, torches, and Landis threading machines.

+ Equipment Operation: Safely operate powered industrial equipment (like forklifts) per OSHA and company guidelines. Set up and maintain fabrication machinery.

+ Quality & Precision: Measure and record pipe lengths accurately. Use gauges and tape measures to perform strict quality checks.

+ Safety First: Follow all safety precautions for cutting, fabricating, stacking, and shipping pipe. Maintain a clean work area.

What You Bring

Minimum Requirements (Must-Haves):

+ Experience: 6 months of recent industrial labor, manufacturing, or heavy manual labor experience.

+ Technical Skills: 6 to 8 months of experience operating machinery like pipe threaders, band saws, roll groove machines, plasma cutters, or pneumatic banders.

+ Tool Proficiency: Ability to read a tape measure with 100% accuracy and use basic shop tools (angle grinders, die grinders, gauges).

+ Math & Tech: Strong basic math skills for calculating product quantities, and comfortable using computers for automated machinery.

+ Communication: Good oral and written communication skills; ability to work well independently and with a team.

Nice-to-Haves (Preferred):

+ 6+ months of experience in a mechanical background.

+ Prior experience specifically in fire sprinkler pipe fabrication (6 to 8 months).

Pay Details: $20.00 per hour
