Compensation: $29.02 to $38.46
Position Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for clinical care within the Reproductive Medicine and Immunology Service (RMI). The RN's responsibilities are under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Reproductive Medicine and Immunology. The RN provides assurance that all clinical assignments are delivered with optimal patient care, provides consistent information to the RMI patients, and reinforces a positive patient experience.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Patient Care Role:
Assists physician with office-based procedures
Functions as a liaison between the patient and the RMI Providers
Ensures that all assigned patient care needs are met and that patients are seen on a timely basis by ensuring appointment schedule is followed. Informs practitioners of any delays
Can be a resource to troubleshoot clinical issues arising throughout the day that are related to patient care. Under the direction and guidance of the RN's supervisor, may work with other departments (clinical lab, revenue cycle, front desk operations, etc.) to resolve them
May communicate and coordinate with PSR staff regarding new patient scheduling, addresses patient inquiries regarding the Reproductive Medicine program
May attend provider and clinical staff meetings as appropriate
Registered Nurse Role/Responsibilities:
RN support for RMI Providers (sends out lab orders; ships kits as needed; responds to patient portals as forwarded by APPs)
Reviews all daily lab appointments and determines necessary lab testing
Order entry for all daily lab appointments and follow up with patients with lab results
Reviews new patient charts for previous history; under the direction/supervision of the RMI Providers, determines applicable existing diagnosis
Addresses messages on the RN line
Under the direction and guidance of the RMI Providers, sets up and monitored IVIG infusions
Assists with difficult blood draws or IV starts, as appropriate
Dispense medications per the RMI Provider's orders and administers IM injections
Patient education for Subcutaneous (SQ) and Intramuscular(IM) injection
Patient education for medication, follow-up schedule, and treatment plan as determined by the RMI Providers
Submits prior authorization for standard medications
Sets up Gyne examinations as directed and guided by the RMl Providers
Performs other related duties as assigned or delegated
Conditions of Employment
Must achieve satisfactory results from a background check.
Compliance with the current clinic vaccination policy.
Required Education & Experience
3-5 years' nursing experience in a physician practice, ambulatory, or hospital setting, reproductive medicine service preferred
Perioperative Services (ASU/PACU/OR) experience preferred
Active State of Illinois RN License required, BSN degree preferred
Excellent phlebotomy and IV skills
BLS Certification Required with ACLS Preferred

Flexible, adaptable, and able to exercise sound judgement
Self-starter, self-directed, and excellent time management skills
Ability to continually learn additional systems and software in order to ensure adequate support for RFUHC/CIL
Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and develop process improvement with a drive for quality outcomes
Proficient use of computer software, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite
