Job Description
Essential Functions- Under general supervision, serves as a Systems Command Center Technician for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) performing journey level enterprise system operations control work and computer control functions, including performing startups, shutdowns, system dumps (tasks, system, spool, etc.) and other functions for controlling a multi-processing computer environment.
- Monitors mainframe systems and logs and responds to system issues to ensure appropriate availability of resources, including researching, resolving, and circumventing interruptions to processing components by following standard operational processes, procedures, and checklists.
- Keeps abreast of new developments in the information technology field by continuing education through online training platforms, meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on products, vendors, techniques, and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school.
- Requires one (1) year of related data processing experience.
Qualifying state employees in the employee Upward Mobility Program may complete combinations of specific proficiency tests and training programs leading to a certificate of proficiency in lieu of the stated requirements for this classification.
