Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Senior Director, the IACUC Compliance Manager serves as a liaison with federal regulatory agencies and accreditation organizations, supporting institutional readiness and ongoing compliance with external oversight requirements.
The IACUC Compliance Manager leads the development, implementation, and oversight of a comprehensive compliance program that supports a high-quality animal care and use program. This role provides direct supervision to compliance staff and ensures program activities align with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as institutional policies.
The Manager applies in-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements governing animal research (including PHS Policy, USDA regulations, and related standards) to independently guide decision-making, provide subject matter expertise, and mentor team members. The Manager also contributes to continuous process improvement by developing guidance, enhancing internal workflows, and strengthening compliance practices.

Specific Responsibilities:
Operational Management
- Lead and direct inspection and audit programs, ensuring comprehensive evaluation of operations and full compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
- Monitor changes in laws and regulations and advises management how that may affect the IACUC Office.
- Serve as a resource for federal, state, and local regulations when questions and issues arise from day-to-day operations.
- Oversee the intake, evaluation, and resolution of confidential allegations of noncompliance, ensuring appropriate triage, documentation, and follow-through.
- Develop, analyze, and present comprehensive reports on noncompliance allegations to the Committee, including findings, risk assessments, and recommended actions.
- Lead and coordinate IACUC Chair and Committee meeting processes, ensuring all activities meet regulatory requirements and institutional standards.
