Position Overview
The Division of Developmental Disabilities is seeking to hire a Human Resources Representative for the Ludeman Developmental Center located in Park Forest, Illinois to prepare and process transactions and administrative activities. Performs difficult and a wide range of personnel functions. Prepares and processes transactions and administrative activities.  Assists in the investigation, analysis, reporting, and monitoring of confidential information concerning the Ludeman Developmental Center’s application of Personnel Rules, Bargaining Unit Contracts, Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative action (EEO/AA) Rules, Personnel Transactions, and Pay Plan.
Essential Functions- Prepares and processes transactions and administrative activities for the Ludeman Developmental Center.
- Prepares and processes personnel transactions such as appointments, transfers, salary adjustments, discharges, promotions, separations, etc.
- Gathers and reviews material to prepare and process personnel transactions regarding new hires, promotions, voluntary reductions, and disciplinary actions and separations.
- Prepares disciplinary action forms in response to requests generated by facility staff.
- Attends management meetings, answers questions from agency staff, management, employees, the general public and outside agencies and entities concerning personnel policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
- Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college.
- One (1) year of professional experience, preferably in human resources or satisfactory completion of an approved training program.
- Two (2) years of professional experience working with the Personnel Code, Rules, Position Classification Plan, Pay Plan. Collective Bargaining Contracts, departmental policies and procedures for a public or private organization.
- Two (2) years of professional experience performing human resource duties in the evaluation, interpretation and execution of specialized human resource activities.
- Three (3) years of professional experience in a private or public organization maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with professionalism.
- Three (3) years of professional experience communicating effectively both verbally and in writing with a wide variety of people.
- Two (2) years of professional experience monitoring and maintaining reports.
- Requires the ability to work after business hours, weekends and holidays.
- Requires the ability to utilize office equipment, including personal computers.
- Requires the ability to travel in the performance of job duties.
- Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.
- Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.
