Job Description

Hours: 6:00am-2:30pm Monday-Friday

QPS Employment Group is hiring a Quality Technician for a company in Richmond, IL. This is a potential to hire opportunity on 1st shift.

Quality Technician Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Inspect products and components to ensure the quality and functionality of manufactured goods
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and product designs to verify compliance with specifications
- Perform visual, dimensional, and mechanical inspections of incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products
- Conduct daily quality audits to ensure adherence to established procedures and standards
- Identify non-conforming materials or products and document findings
- Enter inspection data and quality results into the ERP system accurately and in a timely manner
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, audits, and test results
- Communicate quality concerns to supervisors, production personnel, and engineering teams
- Assist with root cause investigations and corrective action activities
- Verify that required manufacturing and inspection steps are completed prior to product release
- Support internal audits and quality system compliance efforts
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following safety policies and procedures

Quality Technician Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Technical or vocational training preferred
- 1-3 years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Experience reading engineering drawings and specifications required
- Experience working with ERP systems or quality documentation systems preferred
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical designs
- Experience performing product inspections and quality audits
- Proficiency using inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Basic computer skills, including data entry into ERP systems
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Ability to identify defects and follow established quality procedures
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 40-50 pounds
- Ability to perform repetitive inspection tasks
- Ability to bend, reach, and handle materials as needed
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment
- Preferred experience conducting daily audits in a manufacturing environment
- Preferred familiarity with quality standards and inspection processes
- Preferred previous experience working in an industrial or electrical manufacturing environment
- Quality certification (ASQ or equivalent) is a plus
