Job Description

Process Technician 

Elite Connector is excited to partner with a manufacturer in Rockford, Illinois to find a hands-on Process Technician to support and improve manufacturing operation.

This is a highly hands-on role focused on supporting production, troubleshooting manufacturing processes, and helping transform product drawings and concepts into manufacturable pultruded profiles.

 

Process Support & Production Optimization

  • Support the setup, operation, and optimization of manufacturing processes
  • Assist in improving process stability, reducing scrap, and maintaining consistent product quality
  • Participate in hands-on trials and production runs to support process improvements
  • Troubleshoot day-to-day production issues and help implement corrective actions
  • Work directly on the shop floor to support ongoing manufacturing activities

 

Product Development & Profile Creation

  • Interpret technical drawings, customer requirements, and product specifications
  • Help transform product concepts and drawings into manufacturable pultruded profiles and shapes
  • Support tooling and profile development activities
  • Assist with new product introductions from concept through production launch
  • Maintain process documentation and production parameters as needed

 

 

Technical Drawing Support

  • Utilize AutoCAD or similar drafting software to review, create, or modify basic drawings and profiles
  • Support interpretation of 2D drawings and profile dimensions
  • Ensure manufactured profiles and tooling align with design requirements

Collaboration & Training

  • Work closely with Production and Quality teams to support daily operations
  • Assist in training operators on processes, equipment, and procedures
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts related to quality, productivity, and process consistency

Qualifications

  • Experience in composites, plastics, extrusion, pultrusion, fiberglass, or other continuous manufacturing environments preferred
  • Strong hands-on manufacturing background with the ability to work directly on the production floor
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and product specifications
  • Basic AutoCAD experience or experience using similar CAD software to create or modify drawings and profiles
  • Experience supporting tooling, profile development, or manufacturing process execution is highly desirable
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
