Senior Project Manager (Pharmaceutical Advertising)

Overview of the Role

We're seeking a Senior Project Manager to support pharmaceutical marketing and advertising initiatives within a fast-paced agency environment. This role partners closely with account leadership, creative teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to manage project timelines, coordinate workflows, and ensure the successful delivery of print, digital, and video campaigns. The ideal candidate brings deep pharmaceutical advertising agency experience, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.

The Basics

• Hours: 40 hours per week
• Location: Hybrid, Mettawa, IL
• Schedule: Standard business hours with flexibility to support project deadlines

Top 3 Required Qualifications

1. Minimum 5 consecutive years of pharmaceutical advertising agency experience supporting pharmaceutical clients (required and non-negotiable).
2. Strong project management expertise, with experience managing multiple marketing and promotional projects from initiation through completion in a high-volume agency environment.
3. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams, manage competing priorities, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Other Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 5-10+ years of advertising agency experience.
• 1-5 years of pharmaceutical marketing experience within an agency setting.
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical promotional material development, regulatory review processes, and compliance requirements.
• Familiarity with project lifecycle management, including project initiation, kickoff, approvals, production, and archiving.
• Experience managing print, digital, and video marketing deliverables.
• Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-visibility, deadline-driven environment.
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to balance strategic objectives and executional details.
• Positive, proactive, and solutions-oriented approach to project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, manage, and maintain project timelines from initiation through completion across multiple workstreams and departments.
• Coordinate the execution of print, digital, and video projects, ensuring efficient workflow management and project progression.
• Facilitate communication between account, creative, production, and other cross-functional teams to support successful project delivery.
• Monitor project status, deadlines, and dependencies to proactively identify risks and address potential bottlenecks.
• Ensure projects are completed on schedule, within scope, and aligned with budget expectations.
• Support project intake, kickoff meetings, resource coordination, and ongoing status tracking.
• Traffic projects through the agency process, ensuring appropriate reviews, approvals, and documentation are completed.
• Maintain accurate project records, timelines, and workflow documentation.
• Track time and project-related activities in accordance with agency and financial policies.
• Partner closely with account leadership and creative teams to support brand initiatives and campaign execution.
• Maintain adherence to established compliance, branding, and promotional review requirements.

In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data, including medical data. This position is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment. Additionally, drug products may be present in the workplace.
