Overview of the Role
A leading in-house pharmaceutical advertising agency is seeking an Account Manager II to serve as the primary liaison between brand teams and agency partners. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day account relationships, providing strategic marketing support, and leading projects from concept through execution.
The ideal candidate has experience in both pharmaceutical marketing and advertising agency environments, a strong understanding of digital marketing channels, and the ability to manage multiple high-visibility projects in a fast-paced, regulated industry.
The Basics
- Duration: 12-months
- Location/Onsite Requirements: Hybrid, Mettawa, IL; Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday onsite; Monday and Friday remote
- Hours: 40 hours per week
Top 3 Required Qualifications
- 4-6+ years of account management experience within a pharmaceutical advertising agency, healthcare agency, or in-house pharmaceutical agency
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical marketing, brand strategy, target audiences, competitive landscape, and regulatory requirements
- Experience supporting digital marketing campaigns, platforms, and customer engagement initiatives
Other Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Agency experience strongly preferred
- Experience working within pharmaceutical or healthcare marketing environments
- Understanding of MLR review processes, PromoMats, and compliance requirements
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced agency environment
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
- Experience supporting both U.S. and Global brands is a plus
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact between brand teams and agency partners
- Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships
- Partner with brand teams to develop creative briefs and campaign strategies
- Recommend promotional tactics aligned with business objectives and marketing goals
- Manage projects from kickoff through final execution
- Coordinate communication across creative, account, and client teams
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory requirements
- Prepare client contact reports and provide project status updates
- Support forecasting, budget management, and financial reconciliations
- Maintain knowledge of agency workflows, approval processes, and pharmaceutical marketing requirements
- Partner with creative teams to deliver effective and impactful marketing solutions
