Overview of the Role
A leading in-house pharmaceutical advertising agency is seeking an Account Manager I to serve as the primary liaison between brand teams and agency partners. This role supports the development and execution of marketing initiatives, manages day-to-day client relationships, and helps ensure projects are delivered on strategy, on time, and within budget.
The ideal candidate has experience in both pharmaceutical marketing and advertising agency environments, strong project management capabilities, and a solid understanding of digital marketing within regulated industries.
The Basics
- Duration: 12-month contract
- Start Date: September 2026
- Hours: 40 hours per week
- Location/Onsite Requirements: Hybrid, Mettawa, IL; Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday onsite; Monday and Friday remote
Top 3 Required Qualifications
- 2-4+ years of account management experience within a pharmaceutical advertising agency or in-house pharmaceutical agency
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical marketing, brand strategy, regulatory considerations, and promotional development
- Experience supporting digital marketing initiatives, campaigns, and platforms
Other Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
- Experience working within agency-client relationship structures
- Understanding of medical, legal, and regulatory review processes
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical brand management and promotional tactics
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Experience managing multiple projects in fast-paced environments
- Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience supporting both U.S. and Global pharmaceutical brands is a plus
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the day-to-day contact between brand teams and agency partners
- Collaborate with brand stakeholders to develop creative briefs and campaign plans
- Recommend marketing tactics aligned with brand objectives and business goals
- Manage projects from concept through execution while ensuring quality, timelines, and budgets are maintained
- Coordinate communication across creative, account, and client teams
- Review project progress and ensure deliverables meet expectations and compliance requirements
- Support forecasting, budget tracking, and financial reconciliations
- Prepare client contact reports and project updates for stakeholders
- Ensure projects adhere to corporate branding, compliance, and promotional review requirements
- Partner with creative teams to support strategic campaign execution
