Job Title: Forklift Operator $19-22/HR

Job Description

The Forklift Operator plays a key role in warehouse operations by safely operating forklifts, handling materials, and supporting production activities. This position ensures accurate movement and tracking of inventory, maintains equipment in excellent condition, and contributes to a clean, safe, and efficient warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

+ Operate forklifts professionally and safely, maintaining an accident-free record while moving, lifting, stacking, and tiering products, equipment, and materials in the warehouse.

+ Perform systematic maintenance and cleaning of forklifts to ensure they remain in proper working condition and meet inspection requirements.

+ Use the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to continuously track the location of goods during material handling and ensure accurate and timely data entry.

+ Carry out manual warehouse tasks as directed by the warehouse supervisor or team lead, including sampling, inventory activities, and general cleaning.

Essential Skills

+ Ability to operate a sit-down forklift safely and effectively in a warehouse environment.

+ Ability to count inventory accurately while moving and handling materials.

+ Ability to read and interpret scales for weighing products and materials.

+ Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

+ High level of alertness and situational awareness when driving a forklift, especially in tighter confined spaces.

+ Ability to communicate clearly and work independently or as part of a team.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Reliable transportation to the work site and ability to arrive as scheduled.

+ Demonstrated enthusiasm, positive attitude, honesty, and respect for colleagues and customers.

+ Experience with material handling, loading, and unloading transport vehicles.

+ Comfort using PCs, scanners, and warehouse technology to perform job tasks.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Woodhull, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 – $19.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
