This engineer will develop power conversion architectures, translate system requirements into circuit designs, verify designs through simulation and laboratory testing, collaborate with system and hardware engineering teams, and support products from initial requirements through qualification, integration, production, and configuration management.
- Design and develop high-efficiency switch-mode power supply architectures for image processing, embedded processing, and Receiver/Exciter systems
- Develop power conversion solutions with output requirements ranging from less than 1 mW to greater than 10 kW
- Design subsystem and module-level circuits for custom and commercial-off-the-shelf systems using COTS and MIL-STD interfaces
- Collaborate with system, subsystem, and hardware engineers to define requirements, develop circuit topologies, and support printed wiring board layouts
- Perform schematic capture, SPICE simulation, laboratory verification, integration, and formal qualification testing
- Prototype, test, troubleshoot, and debug complex power systems, switch-mode topologies, and linear regulators
- Verify designs against electrical, mechanical, environmental, electromagnetic environmental effects, and EMI/EMC requirements
- Support compliance with MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, DO-160, TEMPEST, and applicable customer requirements
- Lead technical projects and mentor engineers within the power design engineering team
- Maintain design documentation, revision control, configuration management, and review records throughout the product lifecycle
