Position Overview

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment, pay close attention to detail, and provide excellent customer service to Lottery players. Essential Functions

  • Under direction, as the Secretary of the Check Writing & Claims Section, performs a wide variety of complex, specialized office support functions.

  • Prepares, verifies, enters, and edits instant, online, and eclaims, for payment to Lottery winners.

  • Explains and interprets rules, regulations and procedures to winners, non-winners, and the public.

  • Organizes and maintains filing system of all claim forms and general correspondence in electronic or hardcopy form.

  • Answers incoming telephone calls from the public, financial institutions, Lottery winners and players, officials, Lottery retailers and others regarding lottery tickets, validations, and check writing activities applying knowledge of agency operations, or directs them to other professional staff if of a complex nature.

  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonable within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications
  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to two (2) years of secretarial/business college; OR Completion of high school and two (2) years of related office experience; OR two (2) years of independent business experience. 

 

 

Conditions of Employment

  • Requires the completion of a background check and self-disclosure of criminal history.

  • Requires the ability to stand/sit at an intake window for extended periods of time.
