Position Overview

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and results oriented individual to serve as Social Service Program Planner IV.  DCFS offers a competitive compensation plan, excellent benefits, and a generous pension program. • Serves as Cook/Northern Emergency Foster Care and Shelter Care Coordinator.


• Serves as liaison to Emergency Foster Care and Shelter Care providers within assigned regions.


• Conducts contract compliance, program monitoring, and/or fiscal management reviews of assigned providers to ensure compliance with contract terms and to address program plan performance outcomes.


• Attends, conducts, and/or participates in various meetings, community events, and work groups as assigned.


• Maintains and enters complex information and systems of data collection to ensure that daily provider reports, annual audits, and narrative reports are submitted within timeframes indicated in the program plan.


• Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

• Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of a master’s degree.


• Requires two years of progressively responsible professional experience in community organization, social service work, or in program planning and development.

• Requires completion of a background check and self-disclosure of criminal history. 


• Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties. Requires appropriate, valid driver’s license.
