Job Description
The Engineering Tech 2 supports both field and office operations for civil engineering and surveying projects. This role performs surveying assistance, CAD drafting, construction observation, data collection, and general technical support for engineers and surveyors. Work includes a mix of outdoor fieldwork and indoor drafting/documentation tasks, making it ideal for someone who enjoys variety and hands‑on project involvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist survey crews with field measurements, equipment setup, and data collection
- Perform CAD drafting for engineering plans, exhibits, and construction documents
- Conduct construction observation and document site conditions
- Support municipal, utility, transportation, and land development projects
- Read and interpret engineering plans, plats, and specifications
- Maintain accurate field notes, digital files, and project documentation
- Collaborate with engineers, surveyors, and project managers on daily tasks
