Job Description
This position is a union position; therefore, provisions of the relevant collective bargaining agreement/labor contract apply to the filling of this position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Under direct supervision, for a period of up to 12 months, receives instruction and on the job training on how to properly review and process requests from all types of gaming licensees.
- Learns techniques to identify internal control weaknesses and corresponding level of problems.
- Participates in discussions with gaming licensees, internal staff, and Illinois Gaming Board (IGB) enforcement personnel.
- Records work activity into an automated Illinois Gaming Board System.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.
- Requires a bachelor’s degree, with coursework in auditing, business management, public administration, economics, computer science, accounting, or other related subjects.
- This class is included as an Upward Mobility Program credential title.
- Requires the ability to pass Illinois Gaming Board’s background investigation (background check).
- Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate. Requires appropriate, valid driver’s license.
- Requires proof of current automobile insurance.
- Overtime is a condition of employment, and you may be requested or required/ mandated to work overtime, including scheduled, unscheduled, or last-minute overtime. This requires the ability to work evenings and weekends.
- Must comply with the State Officials and Employees Ethics Act: No State employee who works for the Illinois Gaming Board, or spouse or immediate family member living with such person shall, during State employment, hold an ownership interest in, other than a passive interest in, a publicly traded company, in any gaming license under the Illinois Gambling Act, the Video Gaming Act, the Illinois Horse Racing Act of 1975, or the Sports Wagering Act.
- Must comply with the Illinois Gambling Act: No person shall be employed to serve the Board who is, or whose spouse, parent, or child is, an official of, or has a financial interest in or financial relation with, any operator engaged in gambling operations within this State, or any organization engaged in conducting horse racing within this State.
- Must comply with the Illinois Gambling Act: For the one year immediately preceding employment, an employee shall not have been employed or received compensation or fees for services from a person or entity, or its parent or affiliate, that has engaged in business with the Board, a licensee, or a licensee under the Illinois Horse Racing Act of 1975.
- Certain provisions of the revolving door restrictions contained in 5 ILCS 430/5-45 apply to this position. As a result, the employee should be aware that if offered non-State employment during state employment or within one year immediately after ending State employment, the employee shall, prior to accepting any such non-State employment offer, notify the Office of the Executive Inspector General for the Agencies of the Illinois Governor (OEIG) or may be subject to a fine.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Prefers one (1) year of professional experience utilizing auditing theories and procedures.
- Prefers one (1) year of professional experience working with agency's programs, policies, and regulations.
- Prefers one (1) year of professional experience working with management principles and techniques, including organization, management, program accountability, governmental operations, and systems analysis.
- Prefers one (1) year of professional experience working with functions of state government.
- Prefers one (1) year of professional experience working with current technology utilized in the workplace.
- Prefers one (1) year of professional experience applying state laws, statutory mandates, administrative rules, regulations, policies, and procedures when auditing an agency’s functions and programs.
