Network Engineer

Jump Operations, LLC | Chicago, IL

Job Duties: Design, configure and support our global network infrastructure, collaborating across multiple teams to optimize for proprietary low latency trading applications. Support and troubleshoot a hybrid wireless and wired high performance network environment. Take an automated, data driven approach to diagnosing and solving complex network infrastructure issues such as micro-bursting, jitter and queuing. Leverage automation skills and take a “devops” approach to improve efficiency of network management, deployment and maintenance of proprietary trading applications. Own and project manage global network initiatives from requirements gathering, design review, implementation, deployment and documentation.

Telecommuting: No telecommuting allowed.

Salary: $250,000 to $300,000 per year

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or related field, plus 5 years of post-bachelor’s progressive experience in a related occupation.

Must also have professional experience with the following: Large-scale global network design, operations, and support; IP networking, including TCP/IP, BGP, and OSPF; Operating networking platforms from Cisco, Juniper, Mellanox, and Arista; Scripting languages (Python); and Software development practices, including GIT, REST, and JSON.
