Job Description
Gateway Truck & Refrigeration, a Carrier Refrigeration, Volvo, and Hino truck dealer with multiple locations in Missouri, Illinois and Wisconsin is in search a 2nd shift Mechanic.
Duties include:
Performing mechanical repairs of medium and heavy-duty diesel trucks Perform basic electrical, technical, welding and mechanical repairs Road test vehicles when necessary to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure they are properly working Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment using testing equipment such as a laptop, motor analyzers, temperature and pressure gauges Identify warranty repairs and document properly on the repair order Keep work area clean and safe Complete required documentation for work order files and customer billing Other duties as assignedRequirements:
High school degree or equivalent (preferably trade school as well) Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record (preferably with a CDL or ability to obtain one) Must pass DOT physical and drug screen as well as background check Full set of own hand tools (preferably) General mechanical knowledge Time management skills Welding experience and fabrication skills are preferred Must be detail oriented and able to work in a team environment Ability to read wiring diagrams Willingness to attend additional training when needed to advance in the profession (paid for by the company) A commitment to great customer service!Benefits include:
