An excellent opportunity for a Human Resources Manager in Collinsville, IL! Gateway Truck & Refrigeration is a growing company with 13 locations in 3 states (IL, MO, & WI). We are looking for a dynamic HR professional to help support our growing team of nearly 250 employees.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Serve as a liaison between GTR management and employees by handling questions, interpreting and administering policies, and help resolve work-related issues
Administer employee compensation plans, GTR benefits, safety, performance, and compliance needs
Manage payroll process on a weekly basis for varying pay frequencies
Prepare and maintain employee benefit enrollment and documents including the annual employee open enrollment process
Administer the company-sponsored 401k plan and coordinate the annual audit process
Maintain and coordinate corporate insurance plans including property, liability, casualty, and workers compensation
Administer FMLA/ ADA/ Disability/ etc. plans in compliance with federal regulations and company policy
Participate in benchmarking and industry related surveys to ensure GTR is providing competitive compensation and benefits for the employee market
Participate and provide guidance in the recruiting and onboarding of new hires including screening, interviewing, orientation, and acclimation of employees
Participate and provide guidance to managers in the termination of employment due to disciplinary actions, performance issues, position changes, improvement plans, etc.
Ensure compliance reporting is complete and updated as required
Create and ensure compliance of policies & procedures
Stay up-to-date on employment laws, changes in federal and state law, DOT regulations, various employment trends, etc. to provide accurate guidance and policy changes
Maintain and update data in the Payroll and HRIS system
Provide ad hoc reports concerning employment-related data such as hires, terminations, transfers, performance reviews, promotions, etc. as needed
Participate in the employee activity committee to plan events that support the company culture
Assist employees with questions and concerns they may be experiencing
Other position related duties as assigned

employees and managers
Benefit plan administration experience including retirement, medical, dental, disability,
HSA, workers compensation, etc.
State and federal employment law knowledge
Excellent internal and external customer service
Strong Microsoft Office skills
Payroll processing experience
Ability to cooperate, work, and communicate with management team, subordinates,
and outside contacts and customers to achieve common goals
Ability to handle stress under pressure
Good planning and organizational skills

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Requirements a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field
5+ years’ experience in a human resources generalist-type role
Professional certification (PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP)
