Network Engineer 1

We are seeking a full-time exempt Network Engineer 1 to join our Network Engineering Team. In this role, you will be a contributor on the team of Network Engineers who are responsible for all network deployment projects, Connect America Fund network design, wireless access point and backhaul design, evaluation of all new wireless and GPON technologies, CPE standards, creating method of procedures (MOPS) for change management, capacity management of access points and network circuits, creating power standards, and maintaining the management network

Hours: Mon-Fri business hours

Essential Job Functions

New Site Build design Network Upgrade planning with an emphasis on Fixed Wireless technologies

Documentation of design projects

Coordination with NOC for network deployment projects

Product R D with an emphasis on Fixed Wirelesstechnologies GPON

Develop Method of Procedure (MOPs) for routine maintenance

Work with peers to identify issues within the network

Quickly diagnose, prioritize, troubleshoot internal/external issues

Comply with the Wisper Core Values

Work with Network Engineering Manager to ensure the Engineering team is adhering to improving processes

Other related duties as directed

Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent

Current valid driver’s license

1- 2 years of either educational or working expereince in wireless, networking, or GPON with an emphasis on design planning

Regular predictable attendance required

Legally authorized to work in country of employment without requiring sponsorship for employment visa status, now or in the future

Must pass a background check drug screen

Fast-paced environment with multiple changes to schedules fluctuating priorities

Work is performed primarily inside an office at a desk and on the phone

Physical Requirements: X-Light: Lifting 0-10 lbs. Moderate: Lifting 0-25 lbs. Heavy: Lifting 25+ lbs.
