Job Description
Position Title: Buying Clerk
Department: Buying
Supervisor: Buyer
FLSA: Non-exempt
Position Summary:
Provides support to Corporate Buyers by assisting them with the process of merchandising, selection and development, sales, analysis and vendor management.
Essential Functions:
+ Receives purchase orders from various buying departments.
+ Confirms pricing with supplier
+ Corrects pricing and/or weights on purchase orders
+ Changes delivery date as instructed
+ Releases purchase orders
+ Faxes purchase orders to suppliers
+ Assists with price out of different suppliers and delivery
+ Will assist with food safety recalls by completing paperwork such as checklist for recalled items and spreadsheets with required information for supplier and/or regulatory agencies.
Other Responsibilities:
+ Performs other work-related duties as required and assigned.
Education, Experience and Skills Required:
+ Bachelor’s Degree, OR
+ High School Diploma or GED with at least 2 years experience OR
+ Any appropriate combination of education and experience.
+ Effective oral and written communication skills.
+ Commitment to company values and strong customer orientation.
+ Computer Literacy
Work Environment:
+ Average office environment, air-conditioned in the summer. Accessibility to computers, phone, fax, copiers etc. on premises.
