- Owning a project from design through implementation and collaborating with UX designers, customer research analysts, and other internal groups
- Contributing to diverse projects that offer experience with a wide range of technologies and cross-functional business exposure
- Rotating to a new team to learn different technologies and areas of our business
- Building technical depth and knowledge through learning groups, book clubs, and one- on-one mentoring

As an Applications Engineer you will leverage prior work experience while learning several areas of concentration such as mobile web design, website performance optimization, API design, data engineering, and more. Applications Engineers make an impact by:
- Empowering customers to discover, evaluate, and purchase products by improving web and app ordering experiences
- Building internal systems and data pipelines that enable publishing teams to create and move millions of digital assets to our website and mobile applications
- Making distribution centers safer, faster, and more efficient by using software to automate lifting, moving, and packaging products
- Leveraging data to improve decisions about what products to sell and how to market them to our customers

Qualifications
- Applications Engineers with at least two years of experience with Javascript or comparable interpreted languages (Python, PHP or Ruby) and C# or other typed languages (Java, Go or C++). We value your ability to write clean, thoughtful code.
- Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills
- The ability to thrive in a highly collaborative team environment where agile and fast-moving practices are the norm
- Curiosity and a passion for creating exceptional customer experiences
- An interest in developing skills to lead projects and mentor other engineers is a plus
