Job Description
Develops, maintains, and coordinates Building Information Models as assigned by the Design-Build Manager. Assists clients, marketing, and preconstruction services to visualize existing conditions and anticipated challenges. Assists designers, and construction project teams efficiently foresee solutions.
Assigned Responsibilities:
Understand, promote, and implement VDC standards, processes, and technologies
Create animations and renderings for proposals using tools such as Sketchup
Participate in the development of BIM Execution Plans
Aid preconstruction services in developing quantities based on developer or owner provided models
Participate in reviewing CAD standards on projects
Coordinate constructability reviews and assist project teams with model reviews
Review proposals from VDC third party vendors
Develop or capture, and maintain existing site conditions models
Aid in Development of Construction Process Plan Documents for Internal and External Coordination and Communication
Produce and maintain architectural and structural models, such as ceiling grids, vertical transportation, building envelops, while leading MEP/FP coordination
Assist with getting shop drawings from subcontractors
Coordinate the production of as-built models and drawings with subcontractors
Document construction progress in order to virtually anticipate solutions in a timely fashion
Work with Survey Manager to coordinate work between the VDC and survey groups
Assist in quality control for completeness and adherence to company standards of all shop drawings produced
Work with self-perform groups to explore and implement strategies for creating efficiencies by leveraging VDC
Work with Safety and Quality Departments on possible enhancements to standard operating procedures by adding VDC-based technologies
Help resolve VDC design issues
