      "Union Pacific (UP) has a strong commitment to hiring our nation's military and veterans, whose
      backgrounds make them ideal candidates for many railroad jobs. We find these talented veterans by
      employing a military-specific recruiting plan. UP has partnered with the
      for many years to post a multitude of openings encompassing not only openings in Illinois, but for
      positions throughout our 23-state operating system. Last year, UP hired 1,727 veterans, or 28 percent
      of new hires, up from 24.6 percent in 2013. And 164 ofthose hires - 10 percent - were disabled
      veterans. Today, approximately 19 percent of all Union Pacific employees are veterans. UP also
      donates funds from a veteran hiring tax credit to the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP), the premiere
      organization which assists injured service members as they transition back to civilian life. In 2014, UP
      was proud to present the WWP a check for $150,000. Union Pacific remains committed to actively
      recruiting the many talented troops returning home from service and feels privileged to be able to
      repay a small part of our nation’s debt to them
